The Halloween lantern draws on the legend of Jack the blacksmith and his wandering light. It gives 50 happiness points on a 5x4 tile footprint, that's 2.5 happiness per tile, which is above average. You can buy it in the shop for 4000 gold, it's also available from events, and it unlocks at level 23.
What to do with it
Since it costs gold, it's better suited to players who want to raise happiness quickly and don't want to wait for cheaper dollar alternatives. You can place it on any of the four farms.
