What it's for

You can use sugar dollars to grow sweet cherries in this orchard, and as a by-product you will receive sweet leaves for the composter.

Produces

The sweet cherry orchard is the first and cheapest of the three orchards on the Candy farm and it grows sweet cherries, and on top of that you get sweet leaves for the composter as a by-product. You don't need any raw materials from the fields to run production, you just pay with gold or sugar dollars, or you can use the seaweed action fertilizer for an instant harvest with an experience bonus. It takes up a fairly big 10x10 plot, so factor it in when you plan the layout of your Candy farm. It's the entry building for anyone who is only just getting the Candy farm going, because its price and worker requirements are the lowest of all three orchards.

When to build it

You can buy the orchard in the shop right after you unlock the Candy farm, you don't need any particular player level for it, and the first level price of 5750 sugar dollars is the lowest of all three orchards, so there's no reason to put it off. Before you build, make sure you have at least 7 free workers on the farm, because production won't run without them. A second one only makes sense once your Candy farm is up and running and you want a steady supply of cherries and leaves in bigger volume, because 10x10 tiles eats up a serious chunk of space.

Is it worth upgrading

Between the 1st and the 4th level the cherry yield climbs from 16 to 128, so eight times more, while sweet leaves only go from 20 to 61, roughly triple, for the same hour of production. Workers only go up from 7 to 22, but the price between the 1st and the 2nd level jumps noticeably from 5750 to 350000 sugar dollars, so leave the second level until you're sure you're really working the orchard regularly.

Tip from a veteran player Save the seaweed action fertilizer for the moment you need cherries right now, you harvest them with no waiting and get a few more of them, the leaves stay the same and you pocket a nice pile of extra experience on top.
Most common mistake Players often build the orchard but then leave it with no workers assigned or never start production regularly, so a big 10x10 plot sits there practically idle.
