What it's for
The rabbit hutch produces angora wool and produces dung for the silo as a by-product. The feed for it can be made from parsnip in the water mill.
Produces
The rabbit hutch is an animal building on the Gourmet farm where you turn special feed made from parsnips in the water mill into angora wool, with manure for the silo as a by-product. It's one of the later animal buildings in the farm's economy, you'll only find it on the Gourmet farm and it unlocks at player level 28, so you'll run into it once you already have the farm running with a water mill and parsnips. It takes up a fairly large 6x6 area and needs a solid number of workers to run, 5 at the first level and up to 26 at the tenth. It suits players who already have the basic loop of fields and mills under control and want to move on to a full animal building with a product of its own to sell or process further.
When to build it
Only go for the rabbit hutch once you have parsnips and a water mill for rabbit feed secured on the Gourmet farm, without a stock of feed the building will just stand there. From player level 28 it makes sense to build the first one, because even the first level only costs 150000 dollars and just under three and a half hours of construction. Given the large 6x6 area and the growing worker demands, up to 26 at the tenth level, more of them only pay off if you have plenty of free space and your workers' happiness covered by houses.
Is it worth upgrading
Upgrading pays off gradually as the farm grows - from the first level, where one batch of feed gives you manure x33 and angora wool x130 in 3 hours, you get to manure x80 and angora wool x235 in the same time at the top level, which is a noticeable jump in efficiency. The prices climb steeply though, from 600000 dollars at the second level all the way to 10000 Diamonds at the tenth, so save the higher levels for when you meet the required player level, 57, 69, 77 and more, up to 135 for the last two, and can actually put the angora wool production to use.
