Obsidian leaves

The plum orchard is a fruit building on the Obsidian farm where you harvest plums and, as a by-product, obsidian leaves. Unlike the orchards on the regular farms, you don't need fertilizer from the silo here - you start the harvest directly with obsidian dollars or with Gold. It takes up a 9x7 area and unlocks at level 114, the same as the rest of the Obsidian farm buildings. It suits anyone who needs a steady supply of leaves for the composter and plums for further processing or selling at the same time.

When to build it

Build it as soon as you unlock the Obsidian farm, because you'll need obsidian leaves from it all the time and waiting only delays the moment you start filling the composter. One orchard is enough to begin with, add a second one when you run short of leaves or plums faster than you can harvest them.

Is it worth upgrading

Production stays the same at level 1 and at the top level 6 - 75 plums and 16 obsidian leaves in 4 hours, whether you pay 500 obsidian dollars or 40 Gold. The upgrade cost in between jumps from 6000 to 1 200 000 obsidian dollars, construction stretches from 30 minutes to one day and nine hours, and the number of workers needed rises from 5 to 15. Rushing the upgrades doesn't pay off in terms of yield, and there's no point pushing it anyway, because each further orchard level is unlocked by your own player level - the second from 124, the third from 144, the fourth from 174, the fifth from 194 and the sixth not until 214.

Tip from a veteran player Only use the 40 Gold recipe when you've run out of obsidian dollars and don't want to wait - the result is exactly the same as with the 500 dollar version, so otherwise you're just throwing Gold away.

Most common mistake Players put off building the orchard until they have workers to spare, but at level 1 it only needs 5 of them, so all that waiting does is delay the supply of leaves for the composter.
