The dragon fruit orchard is the plum orchard's twin on the Obsidian farm - the same 9x7 area, the same levels and prices, but instead of plums you harvest dragon fruit and slightly fewer obsidian leaves. The harvest takes less time, 3 hours instead of 4, so you come back to it more often. Just like with the plum orchard you don't need fertilizer from the silo, you pay directly with obsidian dollars or Gold. It unlocks at level 114 and works well alongside the plum orchard for players who want obsidian leaves and fruit moving as often as possible.

When to build it

Put it up next to the plum orchard as soon as you have spare room and workers on the Obsidian farm - the shorter three-hour cycle comes in handy when you check the farm often and want something to harvest all the time. One is enough at the start, add a second once you know whether you need more dragon fruit or would rather have another field for crops.

Is it worth upgrading

The yield of 67 dragon fruit and 12 obsidian leaves in 3 hours is the same at level 1 and at level 6, so upgrading won't make your harvest any bigger. For that you'll gradually pay from 6000 up to 1 200 000 obsidian dollars, construction stretches from 30 minutes to one day and nine hours, and the workers needed to run it go up from 5 to 15. Per hour this orchard gives a bit more fruit than the plum one, 22.3 pieces an hour against 18.75 for plums, but both orchards give the same amount of obsidian leaves, 4 pieces an hour.

Tip from a veteran player If what you care about is as much fruit per day as possible rather than one particular kind, dragon fruit brings in more pieces per hour than the plum orchard thanks to the shorter three-hour cycle.

Most common mistake Players build both orchards at once without counting on the fact that together, at higher levels, they need up to 30 workers, and then they're short of people for an animal pen or a field.
