What it's for

Sage grows on volcanic acres and can be processed further in the feed kitchen.

Sage is a basic Obsidian farm herb you grow on the volcanic fields and then send on to the feed kitchen. The base price per unit is 90 Obsidian dollars, you can buy it in the shop too, and it's available from level 0.

How to get it

The recipe is the same on the Volcanic field and the Fertile volcanic field at every level, so without seeds you get 75 units in 1 hour 20 minutes. The other option is to plant a Special sage seed, which gives you 938 sage back from a single seed, but it grows for 13 hours 20 minutes. The short seedless cycle comes in handy when you're at the game and turning your fields over every few minutes, while for a big stockpile the seeds are clearly better, and in both cases growing your own pays off more than buying extra in the shop.

What to do with it

Sage is one of the ingredients for the Feed kitchen and the Efficient feed kitchen, where it becomes Orca feed.

Tip from a veteran player Besides Sage you can also use King salmon for the orca feed, so always process whichever one you have more of in stock and you'll use your fields more efficiently.

Most common mistake An early mistake is growing only one of the two ingredients for orca feed and then waiting out the long cycle, instead of alternating the Sage and King salmon harvests depending on what's ready.
