Peacocks are a reliable, risk-free source of Island dollars. The only catch is that the 2 hours 50 minutes wait per batch without special feed forces me to plan the enclosure together with the other buildings.

What it's for

Bred in the peacock coop and can be sold for pearls.

Peacocks are the primary breeding animal of the Island farm, and you raise them in the peacock enclosure from level 30 onward. They are not sold in the shop, so the only way to get them is by breeding and feeding in the right building. In the island economy they mainly serve as a source of extra cash, because you can sell them straight away for 70 Island dollars apiece. Alongside the peacocks, the enclosure also throws out manure as a by-product whenever you feed, so one batch of feed gives you two resources at once.

How to get it

Peacocks are produced in the peacock enclosure by feeding ten units of peacock feed or premium peacock feed. At building level 1 both options give the same 400 peacocks in 2 hours 50 minutes, and the premium version adds 300 XP for free on top, so it pays to reach for it whenever you have the ingredients for both. If you have special seaweed feed on hand, it makes peacocks instantly and in greater numbers, at level 1 a straight 520 units plus 1200 XP. The higher you upgrade the building, the more peacocks you get from one batch of ten units of feed. At level three it is 1000 units with regular feed or 1300 units with special feed, and at level four it is 1360 units with premium feed.

What to do with it

Peacocks do not go any further into production. Their main use is being sold for Island dollars. I therefore treat them as a pure source of Island dollars that I can plan around whenever I actually need money on the island.

Tip from a veteran player Always go for premium feed instead of the regular kind. It gives the same number of peacocks but throws in bonus XP for free.

Most common mistake The most common mistake is leaving the enclosure idle just because you do not need Island dollars right now, even though the manure from feeding is always useful, since it goes straight into the silo for island fertilizer.
