What it's for

Grow in island fields and can be used in the beach bar to make cocktails.

Oranges are the main crop of the Island farm, harvested on Island fields. The beach bar mixes no fewer than four cocktails from them - Tropical star, Fruit cocktail, Summer breeze and Orange fizz - so without them the whole drink production grinds to a halt. You can't buy them in the shop, only grow them, and that from farmer level 30. Their base value is 100 Island dollars.

How to get it

On an Island field you get to choose between two recipes. The faster route costs Island dollars and on a fully upgraded field (level 4) yields 150 units in 20 minutes, which is the highest harvest rate of any raw material on this farm. The other route uses up 1 Special orange seed and at the same field level returns 1750 units, but it runs for 5 hours 50 minutes. For quickly topping up your stock before mixing cocktails it pays to spend Island dollars, while for long-term passive production overnight the seed is the way to go.

What to do with it

Oranges go straight into the beach bar as the input ingredient for all four cocktails on the Island farm. They aren't sent anywhere else, their only purpose is to feed drink production.

Tip from a veteran player Before you start a demanding recipe like Fruit cocktail or Tropical star, work out your orange consumption in advance - those two eat hundreds up to over a thousand units per single batch.

Most common mistake The most common mistake is to start an expensive recipe in the bar without a sufficient stock of oranges and leave it sitting half-finished while the field is still catching up on the missing ingredients.
