What it's for

A pretty good construction material for buildings. You can produce it in the timber and textiles factory.

Slag wool is a more advanced construction material that only unlocks in the wood and textile factory from building level twenty-six. It's made from willow twigs and cotton, and its high base price suggests it's a material for more developed farms. Besides direct use in construction, you can also make a few other products from it in both main production factories.

How to get it

You can't buy slag wool in the shop, you need the wood and textile factory at level twenty-six at least. For a batch of 23 units you need 200 units of willow twigs and 86 units of cotton, production takes 4 hours and the recipe doesn't change with higher factory levels, so the main job is getting enough of both materials ready.

What to do with it

You use slag wool directly for building structures, or process it further, in the wood and textile factory into a wooden box, water pipes or a captain's hat, in the minerals and metals factory into a thermos flask.

Tip from a veteran player Before you start making slag wool in bulk, check that you have enough willow twigs and especially cotton, because a batch uses a fair amount of both.

Most common mistake The mistake is diving into slag wool without a sufficient stock of cotton, which is often used up by other recipes too and runs out quickly.
