Lemurs are the slower counterpart to peacocks, pricier in both input and time, but over that time they return more units and more XP, so the enclosure is worth investing in as soon as you have the feed ready.

What it's for

Bred in the lemur pen and can be sold for pearls.

Lemurs are the second primary animal of the Island farm. They are raised in the lemur enclosure and, just like peacocks, they only unlock at level 30. You cannot buy them in the shop, so you have to produce every one of them by feeding in the enclosure. In the island economy they work as a second source of Island dollars alongside peacocks, only with a longer production time and a higher base price. Feeding lemurs also throws out manure on top of the lemurs themselves, which will come in handy in the silo.

How to get it

In the lemur enclosure you feed ten units of lemur feed or premium lemur feed, and at building level 1 you get 600 lemurs in 5 hours 50 minutes. The premium option adds 600 XP for the same result, so there is no reason to use regular feed when you can afford premium. Special seaweed feed gives lemurs instantly and in greater numbers, at level 1 a full 780 units and 2400 XP on top. Upgrading the enclosure raises the yield per batch, and at level 4 it is already 2040 units with regular feed or 2652 units with special feed.

What to do with it

Lemurs are not processed any further. You sell them directly for Island dollars at a base price of 110 Island dollars each. I treat them as a supplement to peacocks for when I need more Island dollars at once and have time to wait out the longer production cycle.

Tip from a veteran player Schedule lemur feeding for times when you will be offline for a while. 5 hours 50 minutes per batch fits nicely overnight or across a working day.

Most common mistake A common slip is forgetting that premium feed gives exactly as many lemurs as regular feed, just with bonus XP on top, and reaching for the cheaper option without thinking.
