What it's for

Ever wanted to live in a house, a very big house in the country? Well this country manor doesn't just look amazing, but it provides all the snugness and comfort a hard-working farmer deserves.

The Summery country manor is a house you can build on the Main farm, the Gourmet farm and the Flower farm, and its only job is to give you more workers for your production buildings. At the top tenth level it holds 134 residents, but it also takes a serious bite out of happiness on that farm, so you never build it on its own without decorations or fancy houses. It is a basic building block of the economy for anyone who needs to staff new production and processing buildings with workers. It is worth building on each of the three farms separately, because workers only work on the farm where they live.

When to build it

You can build the first level right from player level 1 for just 4000 dollars, so you can start with it practically as soon as you found your farm. Add further levels gradually depending on how many new production buildings you plan to staff – there is no point having dozens of idle workers you have nowhere to assign. How many manors you need depends on the size of your farm and the number of production buildings, but since you build it on three different farms, expect to need it again and again on each of them separately.

Is it worth upgrading

Upgrading generally makes sense, because resident capacity grows with every level, but the ratio to the happiness drop varies a lot from level to level. The best jump is from level 4 to 5 – you gain 10 more residents for a happiness drop of just 3 points, while the jump from level 5 to 6 costs you 63 points for the same number of people. Also watch the price between levels 8 and 9, where it leaps from 2.2 million to a flat 20 million dollars – I would tackle that jump only once you have a solid surplus of money and enough decorations to balance out the happiness.

Tip from a veteran player If you are wondering where to put your money first, get the manor to at least level 5 – no other jump between levels gives you so many residents for such a small loss of happiness.
Most common mistake The most common mistake is upgrading houses without regard to decorations – the player gains a lot of workers, but happiness drops so low that production costs across the whole farm shoot up.
