What it's for
A fancy house accommodates more workers than a simple house. Its luxury also makes your workers happier.
The fancy house is an upgraded version of the simple house, it holds more workers and at the same time causes less unhappiness per head than ordinary housing. You buy it for gold and it works on the Main farm, the Gourmet farm and the Flower farm. It's fairly big (5x5), so it pays off mainly where you want to house a lot of people in little space.
When to build it
You can build it from player level 1, as soon as you need to house a growing number of workers. How many you build depends on how many workers you want staffing the farm, and you can happily have several of them side by side.
Is it worth upgrading
Every level raises the resident capacity, from 12 at level 1 up to 68 at level 10, but the negative hit to happiness grows along with it, from -25 up to -225. Levels 7 and 8 also unlock at player level 124, level 9 at 134 and level 10 at 144. It pays to upgrade gradually and always with a reserve of decorations or other houses to offset the negative impact.
