What it's for

Special king salmon eggs are grown in the conservatory and have a growth rate and yield amount that is different from the normal eggs.

Special king salmon eggs come from the Winter garden on the Obsidian farm just like special tomato seed, but they have a different growth speed and yield than ordinary eggs. They serve as the input resource for the Volcanic field, where they hatch into King salmon. They're handy mainly when you want your salmon from this particular source rather than from ordinary eggs.

How to get it

The eggs can only be crafted, you won't buy them in the shop. The recipe in the Winter garden is the same at all six levels, three resources give you 2 units in 30 minutes. So upgrading the Winter garden doesn't raise the yield of this particular recipe.

What to do with it

The eggs belong exclusively on the Volcanic field or the Fertile volcanic field, where they turn into King salmon. There's no other use for them in the game.

Tip from a veteran player I only have the eggs made once I know how much salmon I actually need further down the line for orca feed.

Most common mistake A common one is stockpiling eggs regardless of how much room you even have on the Volcanic field to plant them, and then the resource just sits in storage.
