What it's for

The Rune circle is a set of rune monuments covering 7x7 tiles that adds 150 happiness, which works out to 3.1 points per tile. On the Viking farm it has the highest per-tile efficiency of the three decorations there. In the game you get it in the shop for 8,500 Gold.

What to do with it

It belongs on the Viking farm as a central decoration, around which you can place the cheaper Ancestor tree or Cult stone. It pays off for players who have spare Gold and want to raise happiness on this farm as effectively as possible.

Tip from a veteran player Choose it over the Cult stone even though it costs more, because it gives more than twice the happiness per tile.
