The Viking treasury is cheap and useful from level one on, because it gives you quick access to snow dollars from ordinary dollars. I'd only throw money at higher levels with a clear reason, though, since the rate itself doesn't get better with level.

What it's for

The Viking vault lets you swap dollars for snow dollars – always at a fair exchange rate!

The Viking treasury is a special 8x7 building on the Viking farm where you exchange ordinary dollars for snow dollars at the favorable rate of 100 for 100, so one to one. In the farm's economy it's a quick shortcut to a currency you otherwise get mainly from quests and events, and one you're always short of when building and upgrading the rest of the Viking buildings. It suits anyone who has dollars saved up on the main farm and wants to pour them into getting the Viking farm going instead of waiting for snow dollars to trickle in on their own.

When to build it

Build it as soon as you start on the Viking farm - level one costs just 10 thousand snow dollars and takes 10 minutes to build, making it one of the cheapest buildings on the farm. One is enough, because it purely handles exchanges, not production for your barn.

Is it worth upgrading

In the game the exchange rate of 100 dollars for 100 snow dollars doesn't change between level one and the top level, so upgrading won't directly improve what a single exchange gets you. Meanwhile the upgrade price shoots up - from 25 thousand at level two through 850 thousand at level six to 2.3 million snow dollars at level seven, and level eight already costs 12 thousand gold and takes a whole day to build. Pushing it to high levels is therefore only worth it if you have gold to spare or you're after something other than the rate itself.

Tip from a veteran player Before you pour snow dollars into a higher treasury level, work out how many dollars you actually need to exchange - the 1:1 rate doesn't improve with level.

Most common mistake A common mistake is upgrading the treasury automatically along with everything else on the farm without checking that a higher level doesn't improve the exchange, and burning hundreds of thousands of snow dollars for nothing.
