What it's for

The island bank lets you swap dollars for island dollars – and always at a fair exchange rate.

The island bank is there to exchange regular dollars for island dollars, which you then spend on buildings and upgrades on the Island farm. It stands on an 8x7 plot and you won't normally find it in the shop, so you have to get hold of it some other way. It has no workers and no XP, it works purely as an exchange office. According to the game you swap 100 dollars for 100 island dollars, instantly, with no waiting time.

When to build it

Since you can't buy it in the shop, you build it as soon as you get your hands on it, and it's mainly useful for players who need to keep topping up island dollars on the Island farm from their surplus regular dollars. One on the farm is enough, it's a service building, not a production line worth multiplying.

Is it worth upgrading

In the game I see exactly the same exchange recipe at both the first and the highest level, a hundred dollars for a hundred island dollars in an instant, so according to the game's own help the rate doesn't change with the level.The building has only one level, from 10,000 island dollars for the first level up to 2,300,000 for the highest, seventh level, so I'd only go for the higher levels if they bring you something extra that I can't see in the game, otherwise I wouldn't invest blindly just for the sake of a higher level.

Tip from a veteran player Use the exchange as you go in smaller amounts, because it's instant and costs you no time at all, so there's no point letting dollars sit around and swapping them all in one big batch.

Most common mistake A common mistake is pouring a pile of island dollars into upgrades just because you can, without knowing what the higher level actually brings beyond a bigger number on the building.
