Glorious barn – Goodgame Big FarmGlorious barn – Level 1

Glorious barn

Storage Main farm

The Glorious barn is a solid storage solution if you have the gold and the patience for the long build times at the higher levels, but I wouldn't expect it to be a quick or cheap investment.

What it's for

You need a barn to store products and farm supplies. This giant barn is not only bigger than the regular one, but can also store a lot more of your farm products.

The Glorious barn is a storage building from the storage category, and on the Main farm it handles storing farm produce and supplies. Compared to the ordinary barn it has a far bigger capacity right at level one - 650 units - and that's only the start, because at the top twelfth level it holds 14700 products. It takes up 7x12 tiles, so you'll need to find a proper chunk of space for it. You can't buy it directly in the shop, and unlike classic buildings all its upgrades are paid for in gold, not dollars. It mainly suits players whose ordinary barn is no longer enough and who are wondering where to put their production surpluses.

When to build it

The first level is priced at "—" and you build it from player level 0, so you can start with it pretty much whenever. The later levels demand a higher and higher player level though - level three needs level 11, level five already 54 and the top twelfth level 139, so realistically it's a build you only finish off as an experienced player. Because it's a storage building, you're not deciding how many to build the way you do with production buildings, but what level you gradually upgrade it to.

Is it worth upgrading

Upgrading is worth watching mainly for the capacity - every level raises it noticeably, from 650 at the start up to 14700 at level 12. The problem is the build time, which rockets - while level two takes 2 hours, level eight is already 5 days and 8 hours and level twelve a full 85 days and 8 hours. On top of that comes the cost in gold, which climbs from 5150 at level two to 268000 at level twelve. So upgrading to the higher levels is only worth it when you have gold to spare and you know your current capacity is running out.

Tip from a veteran player Before you start upgrading the barn to levels around ten and above, work out how long the build will take - at level 11 it's 42 days and 16 hours, and for all that time you won't build or upgrade anything else.
Most common mistake The most common mistake is jumping into a high-level upgrade without thinking it through and then finding the farm has its one building slot blocked for a month - only one build or upgrade can run on a farm at a time, so a long barn upgrade shuts down all your other construction for that whole stretch.
