Cabin – Goodgame Big FarmCabin – Level 1

Cabin

Farmhouse Gourmet farm

The cabin isn't a building that earns anything by itself, but without it you'll hit the worker ceiling sooner than you'd like. I take it as a compulsory item that needs quietly pushing upwards alongside the growth of the farm.

What it's for

The cabin determines construction speed on this farm and houses a few workers.

The cabin is the main building on the Gourmet farm and without it not a single brick moves on this farm - it sets your building speed and houses some of your workers. You don't buy it in the shop like the other structures, you get it automatically the moment you open up the Gourmet farm. There's only ever one, and it's more of a long-term upgrading project than a decision about whether to build it. It's for anyone who wants enough capacity on the Gourmet farm for new workers in their animal buildings and fields.

When to build it

You can't build it by hand, you get it some other way than by buying it as soon as the farm unlocks, so the question of when to build sounds more like when to upgrade here. I'd go at it step by step - as soon as you meet the player level requirement for the next tier (from level 19 up to level 137), pay up and upgrade straight away, because resident capacity grows only slowly and sooner or later it starts holding back your worker recruitment for the other buildings. There's only one on the farm, so there's nothing to plan in terms of numbers.

Is it worth upgrading

Between level 1 and 10 the resident capacity only climbs from 28 to 46, while the price of an upgrade jumps from 50 thousand all the way to 100 million dollars and building the top level takes almost seven days. So it's not a building that would drastically improve your economy, but without more capacity you simply won't move any further with workers. I noticed that levels 9 and 10 have exactly the same requirement of player level 137, so once you reach it, feel free to upgrade them back to back with no pointless waiting for another unlock.

Tip from a veteran player Once you hit player level 137, plan the upgrades to level 9 and 10 in one run - both have the same condition, so nothing will stop you now except the money and a week of building.
Most common mistake Most often I see players putting the cabin upgrade off for later and then being surprised that this one structure blocks the only building site on the farm for a week - and with it the upgrades to their animal buildings and fields. What's worked for me is planning a big upgrade for a time when I don't need to build anything else anyway.
